the symbolism of billionaires willingly paying some greedy tech bro 250k to go sit in his backyard shed built tin-can submarine to find a sunk mass grave site of over a thousand people (many whom died solely due to being poor or third class passengers) only to become missing and likely lost at sea themselves is the type of karma you usually never get to see play out so perfectly
the ocean heard us all scream “eat the rich” so many times that she was finally like “why don’t we just drown them instead”
also for anyone else wondering this is the exact same kind of vapid selfishness that has flocks of rich people going to places like mount everest and getting themselves into mortal danger from being untrained and inexperienced (as well as actively harming the environment around them) and wondering why us regular folk aren’t more sympathetic towards them and their dreams of spending massive amounts of money that other people couldn’t dream of earning in their lifetime to go to places where they don’t belong and getting themselves killed
I think it needs to become common knowledge that “inability to read social cues” can show up as overcompensating.
You don’t know how much misbehaviour is allowed, so you become the perfect child who never tests rules.
You don’t know if someone is irritated with you, so you’ll be extra generous and self-effacing.
You don’t know how much is expected of you at work so you’ll kill yourself in a minimum-wage job and not notice that nobody else is working like this.
“Hardworking and quiet” should be as much of an autism red flag as “ignores rules and doesn’t know when to stop talking”. Or why don’t we just start using words to communicate so i can stop tracking everybody’s eyebrow twitches, that would be great.

do you ever think about how Andy could go see a live production of a play in the 21st century that she has seen a thousand different times because she still slightly recalls the first time she saw it, back when she was still “young”, and just lose your goddamn mind?
#andy’s comfort media is theater no I won’t change my mind#no it’s never the same but theater is never meant to be permanent#it is as immortal and fragile as humanity itself#theater can change so drastically over decades and centuries and millennia#and still be telling the SAME STORY#think about it even the stars change position#but Andy can go to a local playhouse#and watch a version of medea set it modern day chicago#and it can still feel like home
i had to add your tags because holy shit, yes yes YES this is the Andy thesis

“It makes no damn sense! Compels me though,” and “no, it’s JUST DUMB” are the two most important additions to the general vernacular ever

Iâm sorry, but I will just never ever get over Sense8! Never! Like, in terms of scope alone, this show was massive and outrageously ambitious! It had eight equally important protagonists, located in eight distinct cities spread all over the globe, and instead of filming the whole show on some backlot or soundstage in Hollywood, like literally 99,9% of all other American produced shows would, they went all out and shot EVERY. SINGLE. SCENE. on location!! Thatâs insane!!!!! Every scene taking place in Seoul was shot in Seoul, every scene taking place in Mexico City was shot in Mexico City, every scene taking place in Nairobi was shot in Nairobi, and so on and so on, and that is just mindblowing to me!! There was a lot of bad talk within the fandom about the showâs opening credits sequence, people saying it was bland and/or boring, and I just donât get that. It perfectly shows you the very literal scope of the show, showing scenes shot by Lana Wachowskiâs wife, not of the characters or plot, but of the locations themselves - and every damn time I watch that sequence, Iâm just like⊠I canât believe this show was ever made!! And then, oh boy, then the show itself is just this absolutely and unapologetically QUEER AS FUCK love letter to the power of love and connections and how our differences do not devide us, but in fact unites us, and the show was so decisively not what mainstream audiences would want from a high concept science fiction tv show from the combined minds of the creators of The Matrix and the creator of Babylon 5. And I just. I almost lose my mind thinking about this completely revolutionary and uniquely one of a kind series, and I know for a fact that there absolutely will never be anything like it ever again. And that is both beautiful and heartbraking all at once. I fucking love this show so very, very much!
Honestly, thatâs part of the reason why functioning labels suck
